A Strong Woman

If I was meant to be controlled, then I would have came with a remote.”- a STRONG WOMAN

As women we must be strong for ourselves and be strong for each other. Today, we still are not receiving the equal rights we deserve and as women we must fight for them. We should be defending ourselves and fighting for our positions. We will not be disrespected, mistreated, or be used. Use your voice, speak up! One thing I have learned is if you want to be heard, you have to speak up. Nobody is going to hear you if you stay silent. Voice your opinion and do not allow yourself to settle.

You are fearfully and wonderfully made!

Speak your mind even if your voice shakes.” – Maggie Kuhn

It is time to defend yourself when we need to, don’t let anyone continue to treat you less than what you are worth. You cannot keep expecting people to defend you when you are not defending yourself. Defend yourself when you are being disrespected, know when you are being mistreated. Nobody is going to continue to fight for you unless you start fighting for yourself.

Behind everyone successful strong woman is a tribe of other successful women, who have her back.” –unknown

Be yourself and stand alone if that’s what it takes. You don’t always need a crowd surrounding you. You are your own person and do not need dead weight in your circle. Remember, you are a strong independent women. You do not have to depend on anyone, you can get things done on your own. Yeah, you may need guidance to get where you want to be, but you don’t have to depend on them. There are some things that requires a helping hand though, which means you may have to ask for help. Just know asking for help do not make you weak. So, even when you are feeling weak, please remember you are a strong woman and it is okay to ask for help. And as women, we should be there to help when someone comes to us for guidance. Be that friend to the woman who feel alone or be supportive to the woman who feel like no one is rooting for her.

We should be there for each other and uplifting each other. We need to stop tearing each other down, especially when we are telling our testimonies. We do not have to tear another woman down to tell our testimony. I say “we” because a good handful of us have done this before and it is not okay. Just because you do not agree with someone’s life choices do not give you the right to speak negative about them. We all have different paths and journeys, so don’t judge someone else’s. Don’t allow someone’s opinion of you stop you from being you.

You are a strong beautiful women, embrace the strength that is within you. Do not be ashamed of your mistakes and flaws because they do not define you, instead they are apart of your growth. We all go through challenges in life that allows us to grow. Embrace the beautiful woman that you are. Nothing can hold you back, you can do anything you put your mind to, and do not let anyone else tell you otherwise.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:25-26‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Fight for your dream, fight for your position. Stand up for yourself when it is time because you deserve to live your dream. This is your life! Do not give up after one rejection, you keep going after that position you want or deserve. You did not put in the hard work and effort just for nothing! Do not let you effort and time go to waste. Do not stop trying until you get what you been working so hard for!

“If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.” – Shirley Chisholm
