Being “That Woman”

that woman: a woman that knows her worth and who is beautiful inside and out; a woman that make mistakes, but accept her flaws.

I am going to start with saying that every woman is capable of being “THAT WOMAN”

Yes, including you!

Being “That Woman” is loving yourself, knowing your worth, and being confident in yourself. I know for a lot of women this may be something you struggle with. You are probably battling with these types of thoughts now, ‘I will never be worthy enough’, or ‘I will never be capable of doing the things I dream about.’ You may also think you are not beautiful enough, or you will never find your significant other, or you are not smart enough. But, I want to remind you that, YOU are worthy enough, YOU are capable of reaching your goals, YOU are beautiful, YOU will find your soulmate, and YOU are smart enough. Now, YOU just have to believe it yourself. And I’m just going to tell you straight up, no one in this world is going to love you until you love yourself. No one is going to support you until you start supporting yourself. You have to be your biggest fan. You have to make the decision to be there for yourself. The choice of being “That Woman” starts with YOU.

With that being said, I am going to help you out by introducing you to 6 Tips on how to be “That Woman”. It all starts with loving yourself and having confidence in yourself, so starting with tip…

Number One: Self-Reflection

You have to change your thinking process and by doing so you change your negatives to positives thoughts.

Get a journal and start writing down your thoughts. Write down all the negative things you say about yourself, then ask yourself why do you think those thoughts. Then change those negative thoughts and write positive affirmations for yourself.

Then, Ask yourself questions, such as: “What triggers me the most?” or “What makes me happy?” or “Why do I put myself down?” and “Why is it so hard for me to believe in myself?” Answer those questions honestly.

Also, write down your values and beliefs. Write down your goals. Think of all your accomplishments in life so far. Think of your priorities. Write down your characteristics.

Observe the people you surround yourself with, remove the people who is not bringing peace to your into your life.

Meditate.

Number Two: Practice Self-Affirmations
Look up positive affirmations or write some of your own then, practice them everyday. Believe in what you are saying. This process will feel weird at first, but after awhile you will start feeling yourself believing in what you are speaking. Remember, there is power in the tongue, so you want to speak positivity over your life. Do not expect to see a dramatic change overnight. Change takes time, but don’t give up!

Number Three: Put Yourself First

Make yourself a priority. Invest in yourself. It is okay to be selfish with your life. You deserve peace and happiness. You are in control of your own happiness, can’t nobody take it away. Take care of yourself, your mental health matters just as much as your physical health. You are in control of your life. You only get one life, make the best of it by loving yourself and living it the best way you can.

Number Four: Embrace Yourself

Embrace your looks. Look in the mirror and point out everything you love about your appearance. If you have a favorite feature of yourself then embrace it!! If there is something you don’t like about your appearance, start embracing it instead of hiding it. It will take awhile to get use to, but eventually you will start to love it. Embrace your style. Everyone have their own certain style that shows their personality. There will be people who will talk about you, but if you love your style then show it off. Girl Ignore them folks.

Don’t let anyone stop you from embracing your own style. Embrace your personality. You have too many wonderful qualities and traits just for them to be hidden. Step out of your comfort zone and embrace yourself. Never be afraid to BE YOURSELF!

Number Five: Go After Your Goals

Write down your goals. Pray over them. Now chase them. You can achieve anything you put your mind to. You have to believe in yourself. You are going to have to put in the effort, your goals will not be met unless you put in the work. No matter how long it takes, never stop chasing them. Don’t give up on yourself or your dreams because you feel like it is taking too long to reach them. Just know everyday you are getting closer to your dreams and goals. Good things take time, but the timing will be perfect!

Number Six: Step Out of Your Comfort Zone

The only way you can do any of those things above, is by stepping out of your comfort zone. When you are making an effort to do any of those tips, you are stepping out of your comfort zone and without even realizing it, you are boosting up your confidence. Once, you get use to doing those things then you will be able to step out in your confidence and embrace yourself more and more! Take risks. Although, stepping out your comfort zone & taking a risk can be a bit shaky. But once you go for it, you will feel so much better after you did it. A lot of times that main thought that you are contemplating on about doing, be the thing that will sometimes change your life, or be the result you want to see!

Now, I’m going to warn you about the things that comes along with being “That Woman”. There will be voices that will try to put you down and make you feel bad about being yourself. But you will have to block out those voices and continue to do you. There will be bickering and negative comments from others such as…

“She is too stuck up” or

“She thinks she is better than everybody”

Girl, you just have to ignore those negative comments & go about your day. People are going to talk regardless.

Also, there will be a separation from the people who you thought were your friends. A lot of time people cannot handle the confidence you have in yourself, so they will try to bring you down. But girl, that’s negative energy & you definitely don’t need that type of energy around you.

And Always Remember…

You are THAT WOMAN who knows how to keep her faith & trust in herself when life gets difficult.

You’re THAT WOMAN who never gives up.

You’re THAT WOMAN who keeps her head up high when you get rejected or declined.

You’re THAT WOMAN who keeps a smile on her face and brighten others day.

You’re THAT WOMAN who put herself first.

You’re THAT WOMAN who put her happiness first.

You’re THAT WOMAN who accepts her flaws.

Now, go be “That Woman” you are called to be.

My favorite section of this post is the end, that starts with “And always remember…” I actually took some Post-It notes, wrote those affirmations down on them, and posted them on my bathroom mirror so I could repeat them and see them every morning while getting ready. Love this!
